Compensation: $150,000-$200,000 annual salary, 0.5%-1% equity
Location: One Kendall Square, Cambridge MA 02139 (In-person role)
About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our team and take ownership of different parts of our stack. You will be working alongside our CTO on all aspects of the current product and future product development. You will work directly with the founding team and leverage your experiences and abilities to inform decisions from product, technology, and strategy. You will help us build the foundation of this company: its culture, its processes, and its practices. There are a ton of interesting problems to solve, so come hungry. What Success Look Like
Our hiring process is designed for you to demonstrate a generalist set of capabilities, with a specialization in Back End Technologies.
Successful candidates must have expertise in Python, Terraform, and GCP, and experience with some of the following:
Backend Frameworks and Technologies - Node.js, NuxtJS, Express.js or Python

We promote getting great sleep, motion/movement in daily, along with whatever other type of restorative activity gets you to optimal mental performance. It makes for a happier and more productive team.
More tactically, we leave the office in time to have dinner at home with our families nearly every night.

What Success Look Like
- You write, review and ship code in production. Your employer or client’s success depends on the software you build.
- You use Generative AI tools on a daily basis to enhance the quality and efficacy of your software and non-software deliverables.
- You are a self-starter and enjoy working with minimal supervision.
- You evaluate and make technical architecture decisions with a long-term view, optimizing for speed, quality, and safety.
- You take pride in the product you create and the code that you write.
- Your team can rely on you to get them out of a sticky situation in production.
- You can work well on a team of sales executives, designers and engineers in an in-person environment.
- You are passionate about the enterprise software development lifecycle and feel strongly about improving it.
- You are a first principles engineer who exercises curiosity about the technologies you work with.
- You can learn quickly about technologies, software and code that you are not familiar with, often from rudimentary documentation.
- You take ownership of the code that you write, and you help the team operate with everything that you build, throughout its lifecycle
- You communicate openly and solicit feedback on important decisions, keeping the team aligned on your rationale.
- You exercise an optimistic mindset and are willing to go the extra mile to make things work.

- Cloud Platforms - Google Cloud, AWS, Azure or Vercel
- Programming languages - Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, Go
- RPCs - REST, gRPC or GraphQL
- Databases - SQL, NoSQL, Postgres, MongoDB, or Firebase
- CI / CD - Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab or similar
- Source code versioning tools such as Git or Perforce
- Microservices architecture
- Familiarity with AI Platforms - OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Vertex AI, Bedrock, or SageMaker
- Extensive experience with building enterprise-scale applications with >99% SLAs
- Extensive Experience in Python, Terraform, and GCP
