The Certification Specialist will help drive Eagle Wireless modules through carrier and regulatory approval by coordinating test programs, managing lab and portal workflows, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring certifications are completed accurately and on schedule. This role combines hands-on technical problem solving with cross-functional coordination across engineering, carrier partners, and 3rd-party labs.
Key Requirements
- Support carrier certification and regulatory testing programs — coordinate test schedules, manage samples, track milestones, and ensure documentation is submitted on time.
- Manage carrier portal access — submit applications, upload reports, monitor status, and coordinate credentials across AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Bell, Rogers, and PTCRB.
- Serve as on-site technical presence at carrier and 3rd-party labs during certification test campaigns.
- Run hands-on debug at the lab bench when devices fail — swap firmware, isolate root cause, and unblock testing.
- Triage and debug field test failures — reproduce in lab, collaborate with R&D, and drive to root cause and resolution.
- Perform log analysis across 5G NR, LTE, IMS, VoLTE, and VoNR using cellular protocol diagnostic and network capture tools.
- Execute internal self-testing using carrier-defined test scopes.
- Review and challenge 3rd-party lab test reports — verify accuracy, flag gaps, and request reruns as needed.
- Log lab-identified defects in Jira, route to R&D for root-cause analysis, and track through to fix validation and retest closure.
- Coordinate with 3rd-party labs on test quotations, scope, and pricing; confirm test plans and sample counts before POs go out.
- Support the full carrier certification lifecycle — from pre-cert readiness through test milestones, retest cycles, and final submission.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in wireless device or module test engineering, RF lab engineering, or certification test support.
- Direct experience supporting carrier test programs, or comparable carrier-lab support work.
- Hands-on log analysis on cellular protocol traces; able to interpret LTE, 5G NR, and IMS logs and isolate failures.
- Willing and able to work on-site at carrier and 3rd-party labs, including travel days.
- Prior on-site work at carrier labs, or at accredited 3rd-party carrier-cert labs.
- Cellular module certification exposure, including work with major cellular module manufacturers.
- Experience reading and challenging 3rd-party lab test reports for accuracy and completeness.
- 5G NR, RedCap, NB-IoT, and Cat-M technology depth, including how 5G NR test campaigns differ from LTE.
