Our internal software team is taking ownership of the company’s infrastructure. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you’ll lead that effort, owning the networks, servers, and cloud services that run our business, engineering, and manufacturing operations across two sites. This includes the networks connecting production equipment on our manufacturing floor.
Key Requirements
- Own the design, operation, and maintenance of networks at both sites, including routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and site-to-site connectivity.
- Segment and secure manufacturing and lab networks from business networks.
- Manage on-premises servers and virtualization.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and services.
- Establish monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and incident response.
- Maintain security practices, including access control, patching, and credential management.
- Document infrastructure and create runbooks the team can follow.
- Plan and lead the transition of infrastructure responsibilities to the software team.
- Support and mentor software engineers who work with infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in network, systems, or infrastructure engineering.
- Deep networking expertise: design, troubleshooting, and security of multi-site networks.
- Experience managing servers and virtualization in production.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure.
- Experience securing networks that include operational technology or other sensitive environments.
- Track record of taking ownership of existing infrastructure, including undocumented systems.
- Ability to automate repetitive infrastructure work.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Willingness to travel regularly between Minneapolis and Solon.
- Manufacturing, industrial, or OT network experience.
- Experience in a small team where you are the infrastructure expert.
- Experience leading an infrastructure transition or migration.
- Security or compliance frameworks relevant to manufacturing.
