About the Role
The MBA Strategy & Operations Intern will partner with our executive team and portfolio company leaders to drive strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and organizational buildout across our platform. This role combines strategy consulting-style problem solving with hands-on operational execution. You'll work on high-impact projects ranging from portfolio company turnarounds to platform-level infrastructure development to M&A integration planning.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Company Operations
- Lead or support strategic projects at portfolio companies (pricing optimization, go-to-market strategy, product roadmap prioritization, org design)
- Conduct operational assessments and develop improvement roadmaps for newly acquired companies
- Build frameworks and playbooks for common operational challenges (sales process optimization, customer success buildout, support efficiency)
- Support portfolio company leadership teams with execution on strategic priorities
Platform & Infrastructure Development
- Design and document operational processes, frameworks, and best practices for software consolidators
- Build internal tools, templates, and resources to scale platform capabilities (e.g., RevOps playbooks, pricing frameworks, integration checklists)
- Support talent acquisition and organizational design initiatives across portfolio companies
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems for portfolio performance monitoring
Strategic Initiatives
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform build vs. buy vs. partner decisions
- Support cross-portfolio initiatives (shared services, technology consolidation, procurement optimization)
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the portfolio
- Prepare executive presentations and board materials on strategic topics
Integration & Post-Acquisition Value Creation
- Lead workstreams in post-acquisition integration (Day 1 readiness, 100-day plans, synergy capture)
- Develop integration playbooks and refine best practices based on lessons learned
- Support change management and communication planning for portfolio company transformations
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program (Class of 2026 or 2027)
- 3-5+ years of pre-MBA experience in strategy consulting (MBB preferred), operations, or high-growth tech companies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to structure ambiguous problems
- Excellent communication skills with ability to distill complex analyses into clear executive presentations
- Project management experience with ability to drive multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Comfortable working directly with executives and portfolio company leadership teams
Preferred
- Prior consulting experience at top-tier firms (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or equivalent
- Operating experience at software/SaaS companies (product, go-to-market, operations roles)
- Exposure to private equity portfolio operations or value creation strategies
- Experience building frameworks, processes, and organizational infrastructure
- Familiarity with RevOps, sales operations, or customer success best practices
