The Role

This role sits at the intersection of strategic finance, accounting operations, and systems implementation. It is designed for someone who can own complex ERP and financial systems work end-to-end, particularly in environments shaped by growth, M&A, and system transitions.

ERP & Financial Systems Expertise

• Deep, hands-on knowledge of ERP and accounting platforms including Intacct, Xero, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and other mid-market ERP systems
• Ability to evaluate ERP architecture, modules, workflows, and configurations to align with business and compliance requirements
• Strong expertise in chart of accounts design, multi-entity structures, intercompany accounting, and consolidations

Data Migration & System Transitions

• End-to-end ownership of data migration during M&A and system transitions, including customer data, vendor masters, chart of accounts, historical financials, open AR/AP, fixed assets, and transactional data
• Experience migrating data from legacy systems into Intacct or other target ERPs while ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and audit readiness
• Performs data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and post-migration testing

System Integration & Automation

• Leads and manages ERP integrations with third-party systems to ensure seamless data flow and process automation
• AP and vendor payment platform integrations including Bill.com, Tramp, Ramp, Airbase, Brex, and similar tools
• AR, CRM, and revenue platform integrations including Salesforce, ConnectWise, NetSuite AR modules, Zuora, Chargebee, Stripe, Square, HubSpot, Freshsales, and other billing or receivables systems
• Designs and oversees API-based, file-based, and middleware integrations with real-time or scheduled synchronization
• Troubleshoots integration failures, data discrepancies, and system exceptions

Cross-Functional Coordination & Project Management

• Acts as a liaison between Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, Sales, vendors, and implementation partners
• Leads ERP implementation projects from requirements gathering through go-live and post-implementation support
• Manages project timelines, dependencies, risks, UAT, and stakeholder communication
• Drives change management and process standardization across acquired entities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and month-end and year-end close processes
• Oversees preparation, review, and validation of financial statements following ERP implementations or migrations
• Ensures ERP configurations support audit requirements, SOX compliance, approval workflows, and segregation of duties
• Partners with internal and external auditors during system transitions

Process Optimization & Internal Controls

• Designs scalable accounting and operational workflows within ERP systems to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
• Implements approval matrices, role-based access controls, and automated system controls
• Continuously identifies opportunities for process automation, standardization, and system optimization

Documentation, Tracking & Governance

• Maintains detailed implementation trackers, integration logs, data migration checklists, and issue trackers
• Develops SOPs, system documentation, and process flow diagrams for finance and operations teams
• Ensures effective handover and long-term system governance

Training & Stakeholder Enablement

• Trains finance, accounting, and operations teams on ERP functionality, controls, and best practices
• Serves as a subject-matter expert (SME) for ERP-related issues, enhancements, and optimizations

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Leads vendor evaluation and selection for ERP, AP, AR, and finance technology stack
• Owns post-go-live stabilization, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
