About Emergence

We're a thematic holding company backed by the Pritzker Organization focused exclusively on acquiring and scaling category-defining software businesses. Our structure organizes investments into focused portfolios that function as specialized operating groups, each developing deep domain expertise, proven operational playbooks, and long-term partnerships with founders and management teams.

We combine operational rigor with a growth equity mindset—partnering closely with leadership teams to drive sustainable ARR growth, profitability improvements, and industry-leading customer outcomes.

Our current investment portfolios include:

  • Emergence Mobility Technologies (AutoTech) – Next-generation vehicle acquisition and inventory management platforms
  • Emergence Healthcare Technologies (HCIT) – High-efficiency billing optimization, patient engagement, and clinical care software
  • Emergence Container Technologies (Cloud Infrastructure) – Modern DevOps, observability, and secure cloud performance tools
  • Emergence Procurement Technologies (Supply Chain Tech) – Procurement, logistics, and manufacturing visibility systems

The Role

  • We are hiring the first dedicated integration hire at Emergence. This person will build and own the post-close integration function.
  • You will run Day 0 through Day 90 integrations across IT, HR, Finance, and GTM workstreams, serve as the single point of contact for each deal, and keep workstreams on track across portfolio company CEOs, Operating Partners, and functional leads.
  • Between deals, you build the infrastructure: templates, control checklists, dashboards, and vendor relationships that make each subsequent integration faster.
  • As deal volume grows, you will hire and manage a team of Integration Leads reporting to you. This is the ground floor of a function you will own.
  • Note: We are specifically looking for candidates who have led M&A post-close integrations, not IT implementations or system rollouts. These are different disciplines.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end integrations for each acquisition — Day 0/7/30/60/90 milestone planning, intake questionnaires, integration plan build-out, and post-close handover
  • Serve as the single point of contact coordinating IT, HR, Finance, and GTM workstreams across each deal
  • Run integration governance: weekly SteerCo meetings, bi-weekly workstream syncs, accountability check-ins with Operating Partners
  • Work directly with portfolio company CEOs and Operating Partners throughout each integration
  • Coordinate vendor onboarding: Sage Intacct, HRIS/payroll platforms, insurance, and other standard service providers
  • Build and maintain RACI matrices and escalation paths for each deal
  • Update the integration playbook after each deal
  • Hire and manage offshore Integration Leads as deal volume scales

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 7+ years in post-acquisition integration, M&A consulting, or PE portfolio operations
  • You have led integrations from close — not participated. Built the plan, ran the cadence, held stakeholders accountable
  • Builder background: you have set up an integration function from scratch, not stepped into one that already existed
  • B2B SaaS integration experience specifically
  • Comfortable managing executives without direct reporting authority
  • Strong academic record or equivalent demonstrated track record of structured, rigorous work

Nice to Have

  • Big 4 M&A advisory background
  • Experience at PE-backed software companies
  • Exposure to high-velocity acquirers
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Rippling, Ramp, or similar portfolio operational tools

Why This Role

  • You are the first integration hire. You will build the function and own it as the portfolio grows.
  • 10–15 acquisitions per year means consistent deal flow.
  • Direct exposure to the Managing Partner and Operating Partners on every deal.
  • As the team scales, you will manage Integration Leads and define how the function runs.

Work Arrangement

  • Fully remote (US-based)
  • Periodic in-person with the Emergence leadership team expected
  • Travel to portfolio companies during active integrations as needed
