The Role

You will be the primary technical and programmatic focal point for a customer program. You will be in the unique position to coordinate K2 engineering and production teams to support the full program lifecycle including mission design, integration, testing, and flight operations to ensure mission success. You will be the customer's advocate, supporting their success while managing program scope. This position cuts across engineering and program management to execute on delivering highest capability spacecraft with groundbreaking reliability, speed, and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all technical and programmatic aspects of a satellite program, from contract award through integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations to ensure mission and customer success

  • Act as the primary point of contact for your customer; resolve issues, negotiate requirements, coordinate technical and contractual changes, and maintain positive relationships

  • Engage with all engineering teams to drive towards vehicle readiness and how changes impact requirements, vehicle risk, CONOPs, and launch dates

  • Develop the overall program schedule, product definition, technical and performance trades, resource definition, risk trades and mission success; as well as communicating those to management, executives, and the customer

  • Support proposal efforts to align new efforts with long-term strategic vision and engineering goals, and to ensure contract requirements are executable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, math, physics or 3+ years of professional experience in a technical aerospace role

  • Experience managing technical teams across multiple disciplines

  • 3+ years of industry experience managing projects or technical trades

Nice to Have

  • Strong multidisciplinary engineering fundamentals and first principles understanding of spacecraft design, manufacturing, and operations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high velocity start-up atmosphere

  • Hands-on experience working with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or payloads

  • Experience with spacecraft mission design, development, integration, and/or test experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with direct experience negotiating technical deliverables or scope

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to tailor communications to the audience

  • Programming or other automation experience (Python, etc.)

  • Experience working with CAD tools

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $175,000 + equity in the company

  • Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
