Materials Management Lead
K2 Space
The Role
You will build out and supervise our materials management organization which is responsible for all activities from the point that hardware is deemed acceptable from initial inspection to the moment hardware is handed off to the production organization. You will build out our inventory, receiving, and shipping infrastructure. You will also build processes for kitting and containment to allow us to scale our ambitious production rates. Finally, you will develop our network of logistics suppliers to help us move parts and satellites around the country to different launch sites.
Responsibilities
Shipping and Receiving
Implement and Manage Receiving and Receiving Inspection Processes
Manage external logistics suppliers and large deliveries to our facilities
Manage digital records of all documentation for shipped hardware including Certificates of Conformance, First Article Inspection Reports, and Material Certs
Inventory
Build out and maintain an accurate physical and systematic inventory system for structures, propulsion, solar array, and electronic components that meet all part storage requirements
Implement processes for kitting components to build work orders in a timely manner
Complete quarterly cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory
Operations
Implement and improve operations with a goal of zero OSHA recordables annually

Procure and manage a fleet of logistics vehicles, ensuring necessary preventative maintenance, upkeep, and enhancements are made
Qualifications
3+ years of Materials Management experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business disciplines or equivalent to 5+ years of Materials Management industry experience
1+ year of Receiving/Quality Inspection experience
Forklift certified or able to get a forklift certification

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice to Have
3+ years of leadership experience in Shipping, Receiving, or Inventory
Experience with International Shipping
Deep experience with inventory audits
Proven ability to work in a highly adaptive environment, preferably in a fast paced startup production environment

Hazmat certified
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 + equity in the company
Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
