About Kontempo
We’ve built the first payments and credit software designed specifically for Mexico’s leading industrial companies. We noticed that most suppliers of plastics, chemicals, concrete and glass (to name a few) used software to run their logistics operations, accounting processes, and sales functions but almost none had modern software to power their credit and collection systems. So we set out to change this, believing that a critical function that involves risk of financial loss and can also help close a big sale should be powered by the latest technologies and not run on slow, outdated spreadsheets or paper notebooks (yes, we’ve actually seen this).
Having launched just over a year ago, we are moving fast to tackle this massive opportunity of the $300 billion market for trade credit in Mexico. We’re already working with thousands of companies across the country and are steadily growing our team of experts in technology, risk and supply chain finance. We’re also backed by top global VC investors who’ve provided us with over $30 million in capital to fuel the growth of our business.

About you
You’ve spent at least four years at a financial institution or fintech company focused on one of the core functions of any lending business: collections. Knowing it’s a core business function, you view this interaction with clients as part of a product experience and not as a back office, administrative function. You’re analytical and detail-oriented, but also creative and empathetic with your customers. You understand that most borrowers seek to pay on time but sometimes they need the right reminders and guidance to help them achieve this. Currently, you’re looking for a new challenge where you can apply these creative and analytical abilities to a new, innovative financial product that’s having a positive impact on small businesses.

You’ll focus on making our collections processes more robust, more data-driven and more customer-centric.
Define collections strategies, including cadence and content of messaging, restructuring options, and productized incentive programs.
Play an important leadership role in developing our collections area that will grow as our business scales.
Communicate and collaborate frequently with colleagues in risk, product and operations to execute on your objectives.
What we’re looking for
4+ years of proven experience within a financial services organization or fintech business managing collections processes.
Experience analyzing repayment risk and credit portfolio statistics.
Direct, hands-on experience with customer communications related to payment reminders and collections.
Exceptional customer service skills and communication skills – both written and verbal.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives. Creative thinking and an innovative approach to complex problems.
Able to work effectively with cross-functional team members in Risk, Product, Engineering and Operations.
Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in business, finance, accounting or other relevant field.
Fluency in Spanish and English.
