We’ve built the first payments and credit software designed specifically for Mexico’s leading industrial companies. We noticed that most suppliers of plastics, chemicals, concrete and glass (to name a few) used software to run their logistics operations, accounting processes, and sales functions but almost none had modern software to power their credit and collection systems. So we set out to change this, believing that a critical function that involves risk of financial loss and can also help close a big sale should be powered by the latest technologies and not run on slow, outdated spreadsheets or paper notebooks (yes, we’ve actually seen this).
Having launched just over a year ago, we are moving fast to tackle this massive opportunity of the $300 billion market for trade credit in Mexico. We’re already working with thousands of companies across the country and are steadily growing our team of experts in technology, risk and supply chain finance. You’re a strategic-minded finance professional with a strong track record managing FP&A, forecasting, valuation models, and capital markets operations within a financial services organization or financial technology company. You’re a great communicator and a people person. One of your superpowers is explaining complex processes in simple, easy to understand terms. You’re looking to work with smart people and have fun building something great. You thrive in the fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment typical of a high-growth technology company.
🚀 At Kontempo you’ll get to
Build financial models and forecasts to help guide our business strategy.
Work closely with external partners, including accountants, lawyers, and investors, to ensure we have accurate financial records and accounting information to share with key stakeholders.
Collaborate with team members from operations, risk and treasury to produce detailed reports and analysis related to cash flows generated from our credit operations.
Play a key role in communicating with current and future investors about the company’s capital raising activities. Create virtual data rooms, ensure loan tape accuracy, gather financial and legal documents, and spearhead communication with our investors.
Help us build out a team of financial analysts that will allow us to scale our business over the short and medium term.
🔍 What we’re looking for
2- 3 years of proven experience in corporate or strategic finance, accounting and/or investment banking at top companies.
Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives. Creative thinking and an innovative approach to complex problems.
Able to work effectively with cross-functional team members in Risk, Product, and Operations.
Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in business, finance, engineering, mathematics or other relevant field.
Fluency in Spanish and English.
