Key Account Manager at Kontempo

We are looking for a highly motivated Key Account Manager to join our team at Kontempo. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management and customer success for strategic accounts, with a special focus on activating new accounts and building lasting relationships with our existing client portfolio.
We’ve built the first payments and credit software designed specifically for Mexico’s leading industrial companies. We noticed that most suppliers of plastics, chemicals, concrete, and glass (to name a few) used software to run their logistics operations, accounting processes, and sales functions, but almost none had modern software to power their credit and collection systems. So we set out to change this, believing that a critical function that involves risk of financial loss and can also help close a big sale should be powered by the latest technologies and not run on slow, outdated spreadsheets or paper notebooks (yes, we’ve actually seen this).
Having launched almost three years ago, we are moving fast to tackle this massive opportunity of the $300 billion market for trade credit in Mexico. We’re already working with thousands of companies across the country and are steadily growing our team of experts in technology, risk, and supply chain finance. We’re also backed by top global VC investors who’ve provided us with over $30 million in capital to fuel the growth of our business.

Responsibilities:

Account Activation: Serve as the first point of contact for new clients, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration into our services.
Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.
Customer Success: Ensure clients achieve the maximum value from our products and services, providing support and tailored solutions when necessary.
Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address issues, collaborating with internal teams to resolve any challenges faced by clients.
Account Optimization: Monitor account usage and propose improvements to optimize the client experience, including identifying upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare periodic reports on account performance, analyzing key metrics to inform account management strategy.
Education and Training: Provide ongoing training to clients on new product features and best practices for using our services.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in account management, customer success, or similar roles, preferably in the fintech sector or within technology companies.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial solutions for companies in the industrial sector.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients.
Problem Solving: Proven ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and execute them effectively.
Customer Focus: A client-centric approach with a strong desire to help customers achieve their goals.
Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with industrial sector clients, especially in financial solutions or trade credit.
Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot.
Experience in implementing customer success strategies for B2B clients.
Fluency in both English and Spanish.
Proven track record of upselling and cross-selling within a customer portfolio.
