About Kontempo:
Kontempo is building the next generation of payments and credit infrastructure for Mexico’s industrial economy. While most suppliers of plastics, chemicals, construction materials, and packaging have digitized logistics and accounting, their credit and collections processes remain manual and outdated. We’re changing that with powerful software designed to bring automation, analytics, and risk intelligence to a $300 billion trade credit market.
We’re already powering thousands of companies and are backed by top global VCs with over $30M raised. Now we’re growing our team to scale faster and smarter.
About the role:
We’re looking for our first HR Manager—someone ready to roll up their sleeves and build from scratch. You’ll lead core People Ops functions, including onboarding, payroll, compensation, performance management, benefits, and employee relations.
You’ve worked in fast-paced environments and know how to balance execution with strategy. You care about the employee experience from day one to day 1,000, and you’re excited to help shape the culture and processes that allow people to do their best work.
This is a high-impact role with room to grow into a People leadership position as the company scales.
At Kontempo you’ll get to:
Own all things People: recruiting, onboarding, payroll, compliance, culture, and more
Run full-cycle recruiting across functions (tech, operations, commercial, etc.)
Manage and improve HR operations: employee documentation, benefits, payroll (MX), and admin
Design and implement performance management processes, including goal-setting, feedback cycles, and reviews.
Develop compensation frameworks and support salary benchmarking and promotion decisions.
Help define and evolve our org structure and people-related systems
Partner with founders and leadership on culture, engagement, internal communication and handle employee relations.
What we’re looking for:
4–6 years of experience in HR, managing payroll, benefits, compensation, and performance reviews at a fast-growing company
Proven ability to design and improve onboarding/offboarding processes
Comfortable handling employee relations in a thoughtful and compliant way
Experience with Mexican labor law, payroll systems, and benefits administration
Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English
Resourceful, organized, and excited to build from the ground up
Benefits we offer:
Competitive salary
Health insurance
Learning and development stipend
Flexible paid vacation
Team retreats
