About Probably Genetic
Probably Genetic is changing the lives of patients living with severe, complex diseases. Our data platform is used by drug developers and patient advocacy groups to develop and launch treatments for these patients. Our technology discovers undiagnosed patients online, analyzes their disease state using machine learning and at-home testing, and enables compliant communication with patients. In doing so, we help patients access diagnoses, clinical trials, and treatments as early as possible.
We are a tight-knit group of hard-working, ambitious problem solvers united by a mission greater than ourselves. We do well by doing right by patients. We are developing some of the most cutting-edge solutions in healthcare, and our roadmap is packed with innovations in bioinformatics, AI, and drug development. We have built a lean, all-star team to help us bring our vision to life, and we want you to be a part of it.
Probably Genetic has raised multiple rounds of funding from Silicon Valley’s best investors, including Threshold, Khosla, and Y Combinator, and offer competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and meaningful early stage equity.
About the role
We are looking for a Growth Manager, CRM & Automation to own Probably Genetic’s email marketing and lifecycle communication strategy. This role will focus on building compliant, impactful email journeys and campaigns that improve patient engagement and program outcomes. You’ll work cross-functionally to design and execute personalized campaigns, leverage automation to scale our impact, and ensure HIPAA compliance is embedded into everything we do.
What you will do
Email & lifecycle campaigns: Design, test, and execute end-to-end email campaigns and journeys (batch + sequential) in Iterable.
Testing & optimization: Create a culture of continuous testing, analyzing campaign results, and iterating to drive engagement and conversion.
Automation & integration: Implement automations through tools like Zapier, webhooks, or APIs to streamline workflows and ensure timely, personalized communications.
Compliance & privacy: Build patient-first campaigns with a deep respect for HIPAA requirements and healthcare privacy concerns and sensitivities.
Deliver data-driven insights: Track and analyze engagement metrics to identify opportunities, report on performance, and recommend optimizations.
Drive cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Growth, Product, and Patient teams to align email journeys with company OKRs and patient needs.
Innovate and ideate: Explore and apply AI-driven enhancements to increase personalization, efficiency, and campaign effectiveness.
Communication to all levels: translate patient empathy into performance ensuring that our communications are not just effective, but also human, clear, and trustworthy.
Who you are
We are looking for a few specific things that will help you succeed in this role:
Experienced in CRM/email marketing, with a preference for healthcare, biotech, wellness technology or other regulated environments.
Fluent in Iterable (or similar ESPs), with comfort using APIs, webhooks, and automation tools.
Analytical, with the ability to design and interpret A/B tests and campaign reporting.
Patient-focused, with an empathetic approach to sensitive healthcare communications.
Comfortable in startup environments: resourceful, scrappy, and hands-on.
Experience with D2C campaigns and user lifecycle flows.
Curious about AI and eager to apply new technologies to improve lifecycle marketing.
Comfort with experimentation; you’re quick to test, learn, and pivot based on data.
Some things that are not required, but you will learn on the job:
An understanding of rare diseases
An understanding of genomics, as well as genetic variants and other unique features of diseases
Biopharma business development and relationships, and the unmet needs for drug developers and researchers, especially in the rare disease space
As with all new hires at Probably Genetic, you will also need to be:
A good person. We work with some of the most marginalized populations on the planet and empathy is key
Patient-focused and motivated to have a lasting, positive impact on humanity
Comfortable in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment with rapid change
Action-oriented and excited to build a company from the ground up
