About us:

Over one third of apparel produced is never sold: Topologic’s mission is to eliminate this disastrous overproduction and waste by producing exactly to demand. We remain in relative stealth.

To do that, we’re reinventing the stack of apparel fabrication, from CAD/CAM software to novel intelligent machines. We are attacking a massive $2T industry and are already generating B2B revenue. We are backed with $10m from leading VCs and CAD insiders (SolidWorks, Onshape) and just completed a highly oversubscribed round.

Responsibilities:

A core part of our business is to create new knitwear products, leveraging knitting machines and our proprietary technology in our Boston lab. As a Lab technician, you will facilitate knitwear product development through key tasks in the process:

  • Technical analysis: you will work with technical information (tech packs) and create or work with technical drawings.

  • Machine tending: you will tend industrial knitting machines, and other related equipment making sure they operate properly while knitting and changing consumables through production. You will feedback programmers and engineers on what works and doesn’t work in the production process.

  • Finishing: you will finish our prototype products, i.e. link or sew knitted pieces, wash, measure, and conduct QC.

  • Shipping/Receiving: you will handle shipping finished prototypes and receiving raw materials (yarn), and ensure raw materials and finished products are accounted for. You will interface and play a role in the development of software systems to help manage this process

Throughout these tasks, you will collaborate closely with engineers and product developers to build our technologies.

Desired Skills & Experience (the more, the better, but not expected to have all):

We will provide training where necessary.

  • Proven experience in the apparel and knitwear industry, including production of apparel with sewing machines or linking machines.

  • Experience working with knitting machines.

  • Organized, calm, meticulous, and self-directed

  • Excellent team spirit, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Firm Requirements:

  • Able to lift 25 lbs.

  • Stand for periods of 20 minutes. (Up to 90 minutes when on vendor sites.)

  • Sufficient vision for detailed work with textiles

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 5 weeks a year, in 1-2 week trips.

  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and be part of our team!

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and will include meaningful equity options. In addition, Topologic provides outstanding benefits despite being an early stage startup including:

  • High quality health insurance with 100% of premiums paid by Topologic. Multiple plans are available to best suit your specific needs.

  • Unlimited paid time off to rest and recharge with a minimum of 3 weeks.

  • 401k with optional automatic paycheck deduction.

  • $100/month commuter benefit that can be used for parking, bike maintenance and supplies, and/or public transit.

  • Free fantastic snacks in our office–some of which are healthy and others that are not.

  • Easy expense reports with every employee getting a company card and expenses being managed through Brex.
